Will Israel Survive the U.S Elections?
Sunday, November 16, 2008 – 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Luxe Hotel Sunset Boulevard
11461 Sunset Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90049
Will Barack Obama and the newly-elected power brokers in Washington be friends or foes, supporters or saboteurs? How will the new Administration deal with the Palestinian conflict, Iran’s nuclear program, and the growing threats from Syria and Lebanon? What is Israel’s current strategic standing in the Middle East and what are its options in the days and months ahead?
Yaakov Katz, military correspondent and defense analyst for the Jerusalem Post, will speak candidly on the impact and consequences of the U.S elections on Israel.
Katz, originally from Chicago, has lived in Israel the past 15 years and reports on daily IDF operations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. He also covers the Israeli army’s relationships with various sectors of Israeli society. In addition to his work for the Jerusalem Post, the Middle East’s leading English daily newspaper, Katz is the Israel correspondent for a number of foreign publications, including USA Today and London-based Jewish Chronicle.
