CJHSLA Urges McCain and Obama to Join Huckabee in Denouncing the Folly of Israeli-Palestinian 'Two-State Solution'

Mike Huckabee at the West Wall Jerusalem
Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors Los Angeles ("CJHSLA") is grateful for the strong support of former Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee for the State of Israel. During his most recent trip to Israel , Huckabee argued forcefully in favor of Israel maintaining all of its land, including the whole of Jerusalem , Judea and Samaria .
"There are many places where a homeland for the Palestinians could in fact take place that would be consistent with their roots," he said. "But there is only one place on earth where the Jewish people could have a homeland that is consistent with their roots."
Huckabee emphasized the fact that the international community agreed to recognize clear, definitive boundaries of a Jewish homeland in Eretz-Israel as early as 1919 and culminating in 1922 with the publishing of the “Mandate for Palestine,” an historical League of Nations document, that laid down the Jewish legal right to settle anywhere in western Palestine, between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, an entitlement unaltered in international law. The “Mandate for Palestine ” was not a naive vision briefly embraced by the international community. Fifty-one member countries—the entire League of Nations—unanimously declared on July 24, 1922:
“Whereas recognition has been given to the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country.”
"We have a moral obligation to the Jewish people to honor the commitment that has been made through decades and decades of understanding that there is going to be a homeland for the Jewish people.”
"The question shouldn't be 'Do Arabs have a right to live in Jewish territory, but 'Do Jews have a right to live in Jewish territory?' And if Jews can’t live in Jewish territory, then who can?"
"To say that Jews can't live in Jerusalem is the equivalent of telling the Boston Red Sox they can't play in Fenway Park . Obviously, that would never go over very well on Beacon Hill ."
“It is a historic reality that Jerusalem , and the entire land, was originally intended to be a homeland for the Jewish people. The Palestinians should in fact have a place and opportunity to settle, but it doesn't have to be in Jerusalem . US support of Israeli territorial compromise was misguided.“
"It ( Israel ) may be a tiny country, but it occupies an extraordinarily large footprint in the day-to-day struggle for peace in the world.”
… that Israel had succeeded in overcoming tremendous odds and suffering, and constantly looked forward instead of backward.
"It ( Israel ) is a microcosm of everything that the US understands about freedom.”
"As an American, I do not feel that the Israelis are obligated or required to give up land in order to bring peace."
"You do not achieve peace by creating a situation where you can not defend your b orders and therefore protect your citizens. Having a temporary cessation of hostility is not peace if while that cessation of hostility is going on, just across the border, arms are being built up for the purpose of eventually pushing that border down,"
If this were the United States , no one would entertain even for a moment the notion that "you would have two sovereign governments working the same street. It is unrealistic, frankly beyond that it is irrational."
…[a] Palestinian state did "not have to be on top of Israeli land.” “If one looked at the map of the Middle East, then we are talking about a postage stamp where Israel is and we are talking about an extra-ordinary footprint for land controlled by Arabs.”
“We categorically stand behind Governor Mike Huckabee in his support for the Jewish State and his wisdom and courage in opposing the sacrifice by Israel of any of its land to the Arabs for the purpose of creating a so-called Palestinian state,” said Steven M. Goldberg, Vice President, CJHSLA. Eli Hertz, a Scholar, and the author of “This Land is My Land” is amazed that it takes a Governor and possible Vice President from the United States to educate the international community, including the people of Israel as to the legal aspects of Jewish rights.
Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization raising awareness about the network of anti-Western and anti-Semitic extremists who march under the banner of global jihad. It insists that, among the commitments
imposed upon people of good will by the last Holocaust, there must be a political commitment to prevent the next one. CJHSLA is dedicated to the protection of freedom and actively promotes the right of the State of Israel to not only exist, but to flourish as a Jewish state, understanding that a safe and secure Israel is vital to America’s national interest and is a prerequisite to a genuine peace in the Middle East.
